About bizSAFE

bizSAFE is a five-step programme to assist companies build up their WSH capabilities in order to achieve quantum improvements in safety and health standards at the workplace. Companies are guided through a journey, starting from top management demonstrating their commitment towards WSH, to acquiring risk management capabilities and implementing a WSH Management System. In the process, participating companies gain recognition and benefits of having a comprehensive WSH system in place.

Hence, the bizSAFE programme promotes Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) through the recognition of your safety efforts. In this programme, there are five different levels to achieve:

BizSafe Level 1

BizSAFE workshop for CEO/top management
bizSAFE is a five-step programme to assist SMEs build up their WSH capabilities in order to achieve quantum improvements in safety and health standards at the workplace.

To embark on the bizSAFE journey, your enterprise’s top management has to sign up for a bizSAFE workshop for CEOs/Top Management conducted by the bizSAFE service providers. Upon completion of the workshop, your company will be granted bizSAFE Level 1 status by the WSH Council.

BizSafe Level 2

Develop a Risk Management Implementation Plan
On completion of this unit, learners will acquire the knowledge and skills to be a RM Team Leader/Risk Management Champion for the organization in reducing risks at source by managing the risk management process at workplace and for recognition of bizSAFE level 2 by Workplace Safety and Health Council.

It involves developing a practical risk manage- ment implementation plan for the organization which identify specific actions to be taken, by whom and time for their completion. It also entails formation of risk management team, risk assessment, controlling and monitoring the risks, communicating these risks to all persons involved and in compliance with the Risk Management Code of Practice (RMCP).

BizSafe Level 4

Overview
This course aims to introduce Workplace Safety & Health Management System based on Singapore Standard SS506. It enables the setting up and implementation of a specific WSHMS. It imparts skills in conducting self-assessment and review and facilitates the preparation of an WSHMS Plan for the company. Upon completion of this course, your company will be awarded BizSAFE Level 4 safety recognition.

Objective
To introduce WSHMS based on SS506, enable the setting up and implementation of a specific WSHMS for the company, impart skills in conducting self-assessment and review of the WSHMS and facilitates the preparation of an WSHMS Plan for the company.

Day One

  • Overview of SS506, including advantages of attaining SS506 certification
  • Explain bizSAFE structure & how bizSAFE earlier stages (Level 1, 2 & 3) tie-in with SS506
  • Course requirements in preparing a WSHMS Plan by the end of the training
  • WSH Policy requirements
  • Hazard identification & risk assessment (HIRA) – recap methodology
  • Legal requirements
  • Hands-on exercises 1 and 2

BizSAFE Level 2: Risk management

Objectives:

  • To outline the basic principles, guidelines and recommended techniques used for Hazard Identification, Risk Evaluation and Risk Control Assists
  • To equip participants with techniques in conducting Risk Management in the workplace
